Driftwood Cafe: A Delightful New American Experience in South Lake Tahoe

This place is awesome. The service is 5 star plus. The food was excellent. My compliments to the chef who made their soup of the day. Chicken soup was one of the best homemade soups I've ever had. I'll try their breakfast tomorrow but from the looks from the table next to me its also 5 star plus.

Went here for a date night while on vacation. About a 30 minute wait but well worth it. Staff is very friendly and restaurant is very clean. Food was delicious and the view was incredible.

We've been here about a dozen times now, and the food is consistently good. We always get the high sierra omelette and alternate between pancake and waffle. Just enough food for two. Ambiance is compact efficient, service is prompt and friendly, and prices are in line with expectation. This joint makes the list!

Everytime I walk around Heavenly Village, I mostly pass by this restaurant. So I decided to give it a shot dining here for breakfast. It's seemingly alright here and quite small. Quite crowded when I got here. I got my food and it seems alright and my coffee as well even though that they seem to forgot about it since it's usually served way before other food is here. Really like how the sausage patties are cooked. Everything is alright. The staff here are ok, but kinda awkward at the same time. I still do think that they're trying their best to service their customers.

The Customer's Favorite sammie on a toasted dutch crunch roll is fabulous. Their potato salad is most definitely not from a jar. Ordered through DD so not sure what the place itself is like. But, I can tell you that their food is simply amazing!

Found Driftwood after our hotel did not have their restaurant open for breakfast. Apparently off season. We are dog dads. Driftwood did not allow dogs indoors. We choose a table outdoors. Had to to order takeout because of dog. Order arrived promptly. Sat out on patio. Bloody Mary was good.

Great little lunch and breakfast spot. Nothing fancy on the inside, but service is great and the food was quite delicious. Hub wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch..he got biscuits and gravy and a side order of sourdough toast..he really like it. I ordered the grilled fish tacos. These were quite good, but what put them over the top was a green sauce they served with it. Chips and homemade salsa came with. Will definitely be back...prices are extremely fair for South Lake Tahoe...

Get your capsaicin charge up before riding heavenly with added jalapeño & Tahoe Heat hot sauce. you can buy bottles of this sauce too cheaper than on their site! The place is very affordable and on a weekday theres rarely a wait. Food came out fast and all my vegan modifications were spot on. its quieter than most cafes due to the it being a heptagonal shape. peep this giant vegan burrito
